Carrot & Orange Smoothie / Juice


Everybody loves smoothies/juices. But most people pay more for their favorite smoothie and buy it from juice bars. I always prefer home made smoothies. They are cheaper, healthier, more hygienic and very easy to make according to our preferences. Today I thought to share a carrot & Orange smoothie recipe with you all. This is one of the most favorite smoothies of my husband :). You do not need to have any special equipment to prepare this. You can use a normal blender/grinder to make this delicious smoothie to chill you during hot summer.


Prep Time: 5 min     Cook Time: N/A     Total Time: 5 min     Serves: 2

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 orange
  • 1 medium size carrot
  • 4 ice cubes
  • 2 teaspoon honey/sugar
  • Required amount of water

DIRECTIONS

  1. Peel off the skin of the orange. Remove seeds, if there any.
  2. Cut the carrot into pieces.
  3. Place all the ingredients into your blender. Add required amount of water to get your desired consistency (I added 1/4 cup) and blended it. If you are not sure, you can add  water little by little during the blending process.

NOTES

  1. You can add extra ice cubes, when you serve.
  2. You can even add some ice cream into it.
  3. Adjust the sugar/honey according to the sweetness of orange (Honey is the healthier option).
  4. During winter I use to make this without adding ice cubes.
Nutrition fact: Carrots are best known for their richness of beta-carotene (antioxidant) and Vitamin A. Lack of vitamin A can cause poor vision this can be prevented by adding vitamin A to your  daily diet. Carrots also have more health benefits including cancer prevention, anti-aging, prevent heard diseases and for healthy skin. Orange is a good source of Vitamin C and fibers.
